Australian wine gets attention at China Food & Drinks Fair

The official numbers aren’t in, but there’s no denying Chengdu’s 2017 Wine Fair was one of the busiest yet. Our team made a quick dash from Dusseldorf in Germany where we also exhibited at ProWein and headed to Chengdu, China, one of the largest wine fairs in China. Chengdu has a population of just over 14 million and is home to the famous research base of Giant Panda breeding. (Home of Fu Ni & Wang Wang, the Adelaide Giant Panda’s)

We didn’t see any Panda’s but the Chengdu fair went extremely well, we had a great turnout and the atmosphere was electric. Kingston was one of the busiest stands attracting many visitors across the 3 days where we showcased a selection of our wines and had many business meetings and meeting new faces. The most exciting thing to notice was the level of interest in Australian wines, an exciting time ahead.

Chengdu has clearly become the mecca of trade business for wine professionals, throughout the 3 days we met many people from all parts of China who had all made the trip to Chengdu to explore additional wine opportunities.

Our team had pulled together a fantastic event but after 3 days it was time to pack up and head home to start crushing for vintage 2017!
