My parents Nina and Steve are both Greek immigrants to Australia and met each other while picking grapes in the Riverland in 1961. They soon bought a plot of land on which to build a farming business and in 1965 they proudly picked the first grapes off their own vineyard.

I grew up amongst these vines, learning the family business before founding the winery next to our vineyard in 1985. Our winemaking style quickly struck a chord as we began exporting our wines around the world, finding particular early success in the UK and Canada.

From these beginnings we have grown to become one of Australia’s most significant wine exporters and grape growers, strongly focused on long term relationships with customers around the world and building our reputation for quality, reliability and continuous improvement.

Nina and Steve still can still be found at the winery on most days while I continue to run the winery and vineyards. My wife Ivanka looks after key export customers while our three daughters have the ‘Mo Sisters Vineyard.’ I look forward to the day they start adding their own chapters to our family’s journey in wine.

Bill Signature

Meet our people

Bill Moularadellis

Managing Director

After graduating from Roseworthy with a winemaking degree in 1985, Bill was intent on setting up his own winery, which he did on his parent's Riverland vineyard property that same year.

Bill's winemaking skills and business acumen ensured the winery enjoyed steady growth throughout the 1980s and then when Australian wine began to grow in popularity overseas, Kingston Estate was well placed to help satisfy this new demand, with Bill jumping on a plane numerous times a year to visit key export markets.

He continues to run the winery as Managing Director and oversees winemaking as Chief Winemaker.

Bill is a past executive committee member of the South Australian Wine Industry Association, past Chairman and board member of the Riverland Wine Industry Development Council, past member of the Business Advisory Board to the Reserve Bank of Australia as well as a past non-executive board member of Wine Australia.

Bill is married to Ivanka and they have three beautiful daughters, the 'Mo Sisters.'

Nina & Steve Moularadellis

Owners

Nina (short for Constantina) and Steve (Australian for Sarantos) both emigrated from Greece to Australia as young adults, seeking a better life in the 'lucky country.' They met while picking fruit in the Riverland region of South Australia, where they had both chosen to settle.

When they could afford it, they bought their own block of land on which they gradually planted fruit orchards as well as a vineyard.

Ivanka Moularadellis

Commercial Trading Manager

Born and bred in the Riverland, Ivanka started her working career with the Riverland Development Corporation and then moved to Adelaide in 1990 to undertake a Bachelor of Arts degree and a role as the Events Manager for the Lord Mayor of Adelaide. This was followed by a role as Sister Cities Program Manager for the City of Adelaide.

In 1999, Ivanka moved back to the Riverland and married Bill Moularadellis. They now have three girls Lauren, Victoria and Emma who can be regularly spotted around the family winery.

It was at that time that Ivanka started working in the family wine business in various roles including domestic sales management, export wine sales and human resources. Ivanka is now actively involved in Kingston's leadership and commercial trading team and represents the Riverland Wine Industry Development Council on the South Australian Wine Industry Association Executive Committee

Lauren Moularadellis

Marketing Coordinator

Bob Wiseman

Production and Compliance Manager

Bob graduated from Uni with an Applied Science Degree and started work with Berri Coop Winery (later to be Hardys and Constellation). Technical management opportunities led to an industry switch to the fruit juice industry and the subsequent 19 years working for Berri Ltd allowed him to gain experience in a number of roles including technical, manufacturing/production management and manufacturing software implementation.

A change of lifestyle was called for in the late 90's with children requiring a father not to be interstate 2 weeks in 4 and so Bob left Berri Ltd for some consulting with some other management acquaintances. An opportunity came up to work with Bill in December 2000 when the short notice resignation of the incumbent Production Manager left a hole to be filled with weeks before the 2001 vintage. What started as a casual opportunity to help out for a few years has turned into a real career commitment. Bob has a high level of synergy with the Kingston Estate management philosophy and team.

Bob prides himself on providing a level of calmness and management professionalism which will stand Kingston Estate in good stead for the winery growth and development plans for the future.

Brett Duffin

Winery Manager

Brett was born in Ballarat Victoria in 1974, and travelled through America and Canada during the 90's looking for something that might spark his interest. He finally settled down to study winemaking (oenology) at the renowned Roseworthy College and Adelaide University (Waite Campus) in South Australia and completed this four-year degree at the end of 1999.

Brett has made wine since graduation in many regions such as Hunter Valley NSW, Margaret River WA, Austria, Pyrenees Victoria, Spain, and of course the Riverland where he is today.

His experience in the wine industry thus far has seen him work in very small boutique wineries that crush just 200 tonnes of fruit per year, right up to the size of Kingston Estate, who could supply the whole population of Australia with about 3 bottles of wine each and every year! In all Brett has now been making quality wine for over 15 years working in new and old world settings.

Ryan Villis

Winemaker | Commercial Trading Manager

After finishing high school at Loxton High, Ryan set his sights for Adelaide to study science. However, Ryan's desire to work was too strong, so after nine months of study Ryan deferred and returned to the Riverland to assist in establishing a new vineyard.

It wasn't long before Ryan was working for Simeon / McGuigan Wines at Loxton in the winery's laboratory and it was at this time that Ryan's passion for wine was recognised.

Throughout his career at Simeon / McGuigan, Ryan worked in a number of roles including Dispatch, Receival and Inventory Control Co-ordinator, Assistant Winemaker and finally White Winemaker.

In 2006, Ryan accepted a position as Winemaker for Cockatoo Ridge and it was at this time he developed a keen interest for sales.

Ryan graduated from a Bachelor of Wine Science Degree at Charles Sturt University in 2008.

Ryan joined the Kingston Estate Wines family in the role of Winemaker - Commercial Trading Manager in 2009.

Jared Shattock

Vice President Sales | North America

Wine has always been part of Jared’s DNA, after completing a bachelor of Wine Marketing he ventured to McLaren Vale for several years before joining Hardy’s in a marketing role.

Here Jared managed a number of global brands before a calling to sales beckoned and this resulted in relocating to Queensland and then onto Sydney.

Now back in Adelaide, Jared joined Kingston in 2015 and is responsible for the packaged wine division globally.

While not on a plane he spends time at his beach house with his wife Jen and 3 children enjoying a glass of wine or two.

Yu Tianyun

Vice President of Sales | Greater China Region

Yu has been working with us as a consultant for many years before joining the team full time in 2015 with the responsibility for all our customer relationships in Greater China.

Shanghai-born and Adelaide-raised, Mr. Yu (as he's known around the winery) came to Kingston with ten years of management experience in business development and sales, as well as senior advisory positions involving Chinese business and cultural advice.

Shelley Ray-Brennan

Grape Supply Manager

Shelley began her journey with wine in her home state of Western Australia on a farm in Rosa Brook, a small township east of Margaret River, where she studied viticulture whilst planting a small vineyard.

Since then Shelley has held various regional wine industry roles ranging from General Vineyard Operator to Technical Officer, TAFE Lecturer and Company Viticulturist, in 2008 commencing as a Grower Liaison Officer in Griffith NSW. Shelley joined the Kingston team before the 2014 vintage and has been managing our broad and diverse grape supply needs ever since.

When not charging around wine regions meeting with both our own vineyard managers as well as our grower partners, you’ll find Shelley relaxing with a good book in her new home town of Barmera, 10 minutes from the winery.

Jackie Whitehead

Human Resources Manager

Jackie grew up in the Riverland on her family vineyard, working there during the school holidays. Being back in the days when picking and pruning was performed by hand, it was a good motivator to study hard.

After moving to Adelaide and graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree from UniSA in 1994, she returned home to the Riverland, working in hospitality and retail before turning to the wine industry in 2003.

Her first role was Sales and Marketing Coordinator for agribusiness company, Tandou. It was here that she was exposed to the manufacturing and consumer aspects of the Australian wine industry, which cemented her passion for a career in wine.

In 2007, the opportunity to join Kingston Estate Wines in Human Resources presented itself, and Jackie hasn’t looked back since.

“My role sees me combine my affection for people and the wine industry, helping both prosper for mutual reward”.

Jackie is currently completing a Master of Human Resource Management with UniSA.
